Liliana Menéndez is a visual arts artist and a children's book illustrator.
She began her professional career in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) in 1979 where she exhibited her first art works.
In Barcelona (l981), she published her first posters and children's book
illustrations.

She graduated with a Master degreee in Psychology and presently works in
Education for the Elementary School level.
She studied towards a Master degree in Painting at Cordoba University, School of Fine Arts, "Dr. Figueroa Alcorta" under the guidance of the painter Pablo Canedo.
She has illustrated more than 60 children's books, poetry books and
magazines for adults.
She has written articles and short essays about children's book
illustrations, the reading of pictures, critics and surveys about painters
and illustrators.
Her works have been published in Argentina, Latin America, Holland and
Spain.

She is a member of the Illustrators Forum with headquarters in Buenos
Aires.
She is a member of the writting and publishing board of the magazine
"Piedra Libre", who publishes Children and Youth Literature by Cedilij/ Cordoba.

She has held exhibitions in art galleries and cultural centers in Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, Bariloche, Cordoba, Mendoza, Tucuman, Lima, Santo Domingo, Cartagena de Indias y Bratislava.
Her goal has been to spread the work of illustrators and the importance of
children's book illustrations in Book Fairs, Conferences, Radio and T.V.
broadcasting programs, teachers workshops, etc.

She has been appointed, among others, to represent Argentina in the First Latin American Catalog for Children and Youth Literature, published by Publishing House Norma-Fundalectura/ Colombia, 2000.
Presently she lives and works in Cordoba, Argentina, her birth place.
